Campaign Update
July 2026
Following the withdrawal of Wiltshire Council's Draft Local Plan, Halt Harnham Housing has been preparing for the next stage of the campaign as Wyatt Homes develops proposals for approximately 310 homes on land south of Harnham.
Over the past year we have:
-
Successfully adapted our campaign following the withdrawal of the Local Plan.
-
Met with Wyatt Homes to discuss their emerging proposals and ensure local concerns were raised at an early stage.
-
Commissioned community surveys to gather evidence on existing footpaths, green spaces and the potential impacts of the proposals.
-
Continued to engage with residents across South Harnham and neighbouring villages through newsletters, meetings and online updates.
-
Begun fundraising to commission independent planning, transport and landscape experts to review the planning application when it is submitted.
-
Continued to monitor national planning policy and Wiltshire Council's emerging Local Plan process.
-
Worked with local residents and specialists to prepare evidence on traffic, landscape, biodiversity and community impacts.
-
Prepared to respond fully when Wyatt Homes submits its planning application, ensuring the community has access to clear, factual information throughout the planning proces
What happens next?
Wyatt Homes is expected to submit its planning application later this year. Once submitted, we will review the proposals in detail, commission independent expert advice where necessary, and help residents understand the application and how they can participate in the planning process.
